AIA Data Collaborative
Investigating Transfer Student Pathways
(Jan ’24 – June ‘25)
Project Overview

Dr. Kendra Thompson-Dyck at the University of Arizona and Dr. Carmin Chan at Northern Arizona University co-led the project, which was funded by the Arizona Innovation Alliance of the Arizona Board of Regents.
The project piloted a statewide institutional research data collaboration between the three public universities. The goal was to study and improve intra-state student movements through postsecondary institutions to help more Arizonans complete their educational aspirations.

Collaborative Infrastructure
To support collaboration, each university identified dedicated Liaisons (see below). ASU and UA nominated 1-2 individuals to serve on the Analyst Team, informed by content expertise of NAU. The three partner universities engaged an Advisory Council of transfer student administrators for a quarterly review of findings and implications.
